Combating Mental Health Stigma

Stigma among people contending with mental health conditions and substance use disorders continues to be a major challenge in the behavioral health field, despite increased knowledge and awareness about mental health in the general public. Only about 20% of adults and children with mental health related problems receive needed services and stigma is a major contributor, directly and indirectly, to these low levels of service use.

Not for Profit Board Members

Non-profit agencies form the backbone of the OMH provider system. They are critical partners in the delivery of high-quality, recovery-driven, cost-effective, recipient and family-centered services for New Yorkers.

Community Oriented Recovery and Empowerment (CORE) Services

This page is a collection of training offerings, tools and resources related to New York State’s new CORE Services benefit. CORE Services are available in the Health and Recovery Plan (HARP) and HIV Special Needs Plan (HIV SNP) benefit packages to enrollees meeting eligibility criteria.

Family Peer Support

Family and Youth Peer Advocates provide critical support to families and young people across all child-serving systems in New York State. They work in community-based organizations, mental health clinics, schools, independent living centers, residential programs and hospitals. They bring the valuable perspective and expertise that comes from lived-experience. In addition, as a part of their credentialing process, they complete role-specific competency training. CTAC works in partnership with Families Together in New York State to support the Family and Youth Peer workforce and the organizations through which they are employed.

Supervisor's Business Concepts Course

The Supervisor's Business Concepts Course brings business knowledge and practice directly to the behavioral health manager and supervisor through a specially designed curriculum consisting of training, workshops and expert panelists.

Provider Spotlight

At CTAC, we have the privilege of providing training and technical assistance activities to a diverse set of providers, agencies, and clinics throughout New York State. Many participants excitedly respond and share their plans to integrate new skills into their own practice. PSYCKES Training Webinars

PSYCKES stands for the Psychiatric Services and Clinical Knowledge Enhancement System. PSYCKES is a secure, HIPAA-compliant web-based platform developed by the NYS Office of Mental Health (OMH) for sharing Medicaid billing claims and encounter data, other state health administrative data, and data and documents entered by providers and patients. PSYCKES supports quality improvement, clinical decision-making and care coordination.
