Get Ready for the World of Healthcare - How Does SUD Treatment Impact Whole Health?
Integrated care, in which substance use disorder treatment, mental health treatment and primary care work together as one, is a driving force in reshaping the healthcare delivery system. Joining integrated provider networks can prepare SUD treatment providers for the future. Knowing how to promote the value of SUD treatment within an integrated network will be a critical skill. This workshop defines and describes the co-morbidity of addiction and other chronic health conditions and the potential impact of SUD treatment on whole health.

Continuing Review
Continuing Review is the process by which the need for ongoing care at the current level of care is assessed. This process requires providers and payers to have a common language defining medical necessity and articulating the treatment process and progress. OASAS and the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) are adapting the LOCADTR tool to be utilized for this purpose. This workshop will cover some of what is to come with LOCADTR and guide providers on how to prepare their organizations to internally monitor treatment progress and effectively manage the continuing review process.
