CMS has directed New York State to implement changes to the OMH Children's HCBS Waiver Program. NYS OMH, in partnership with CTAC, hosted a series of meetings around the state to discuss the upcoming shift focused on both business and service implementation.
In addition to general updates and discussion, the agenda included:
Part 1: Business and Admin -- Overview of shift; Billing rules, rates, and codes; Qualifications; Conflict-Free; Supervision & Training Requirements.
Part 2: Services -- Core waiver services review (definition and examples before/after and how these work together); Brief review of other non-changing services.
Children's HCBS Waiver program directors as well as senior and executive staff who oversee or are involved in business, operations, and programmatic elements of the Waiver program were encouraged to attend. Representatives from local Field Offices, LGUs and SPOAs were also invited to attend.
