Normative sexual behavior begins in childhood. Sometimes the sexual behaviors of children are more than just harmless curiosity and are outside the normal range of development. At times, the sexual behavior of children becomes harmful to themselves and to other children. Guidelines do exist to help determine when to be concerned about the sexual behavior of children. This webinar will discuss these guidelines as well as some of the best practices regarding treating problematic sexual behavior. With proper intervention, children with problematic sexual behavior often do not continue to have problematic sexual behavior into adolescence and adulthood. This presentation will help you identify what behavior is problematic/illegal, how to respond to children with problematic and illegal sexual behavior as well as, what some of the treatment needs are for this population.
