This webinar discusses foundational information about school attendance and its problems and will be tailored to the current COVID-19 crisis.
Attending school on a regular basis is fundamental to children’s success but school attendance problems remain persistent, particularly under the current circumstances. Many students and their parents are experiencing increased levels of stress, disruption, and uncertainty surrounding the global pandemic. In addition, many students are experiencing disjointed teaching and learning practices due to frequent transitions between remote, hybrid, and in-person methods of instruction.
During this webinar, Dr. Christopher Kearney will discuss foundational information about school attendance and its problems and tailor this information to the current crisis. He will discuss general strategies to promote school engagement and attendance and mitigate school attendance problems using a multi-tiered system of support framework that can include families, practitioners, and school officials.
