The current pandemic has impacted many aspects of people’s lives including the increased occurrence of experiencing loss. In this unprecedented and challenging time, children are also vulnerable to grief and loss. Mental health providers are in a unique position to support children in navigating and processing loss.
This webinar offers attendees an opportunity to increase their knowledge of childhood grief and loss and to apply this information to support grieving children. A wide range of topics are covered, including what not to stay, considerations related to grief across different cultures, how to initiate conversations with grieving children, identifying and addressing guilt, and managing grief triggers. The unique challenges of supporting grieving children during the current pandemic are also discussed, as well as free resources for addressing these challenges from the Coalition to Support Grieving Students.
