Janet Watson

Janet Watson has been an active member of the the Community Collaborative Board since 2003. She is a parent advocate trained and credential in the Parent Empowerment Program (PEP) and was involved with the Poverty and Shame Research Project at McSilver Institute. She is also involved in the Clinical Education and Innovation Department (CEID), Community Technical Assistant Center of New York (CTAC) and the Family and Food Matters Program (FAFM) programs.

Watson has served as a community coordinator for the CHAMPIONS program, an HIV prevention program for early and middle school students.Watson was also involved with other federally-funded research projects: (NIMH) Collaborative HIV Prevention and Adolescent Mental Health Project (CHAMP). In addition, she has served as a Community Outreach Worker, where she provided referrals for clients to access necessary health care and support services in the community.
